SEA KAYAKING TOURS

You can find KAYAKING COSTA BRAVA at several points along the coast; these points also serve as our departing points of our guided tours:

Our first tour starts from Port-Lligat and incorporates the new Cap de Creus Natural Park where geology, fauna, flora and marine life meet in a singular yet spectacular environment. We're talking about a worldwide unique natural site, due to its specific climate and geology.

The second tour departs from Cala Montgó and follows the coast of the Massis del Montgrí. This coast is characterized by imposing calcareous cliffs interrupted by beautiful creeks, cracks and caves. Their splendor rightfully justifies the name of Costa Brava.

The tour from Tamariu is less abrupt and striking, yet its vegetation is lusher. Its coast is jagged with many entrances to caves and narrow passages that make this tour entertaining and amusing. In this zone, we also offer an extraordinary tour: The sunrise tour.

A few kilometers South, Platja Castell, saved in-extremis from destruction, is characterized by crystalline waters contrasting with gorgeous cliffs indented with small white sand beaches. Your pictures here will become postal cards.

All our tours are offered to small groups (maximum 12 persons). We impose this limit for safety reasons and also according to the capacity of certain caves.

The group is always assisted by 2 members of our personnel. One guide-instructor and a second person driving a pneumatic boat, who follows, supervises and assists the group, throughout the entire circuit.

The kayaks we provide on our tours are 1-person kayaks. Although we also rent 2-person kayaks, the fact that techniques to gear the latter require a higher degree of coordination, and also because its size is not appropriate to paddle in caves and narrow passages, we do not use them for our tours.

Although the paddling movement is very simple and logical, we offer a small class explaining the basic techniques before departing in order to allow every member of the group -even the ones who have never paddled before- to complete the itinerary without any difficulty.

During this 30-minute session of class and preparation, we also take the time to adjust the kayak to the height of every participant.

The guide-instructor gives he rythm and the trajectory of the tour; many caves and nooks are hidden and hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. Also, the guide will provide you with lanterns if necessary in certain caves whenever necessary. Finally, the guide's role is to assist any participant in the case of any difficulty or any event.
